Local fight promotion African Pride Fighting Championship (APFC) and South African celebrity and t.v personality, Siv Ngesi have joined forces for a charity boxing event which takes place on 15 June at the Tsogo Sun Cape Sun.
Hosted on the eve of Youth Day, Fight for Change aims to raise R50 000 for child focused charities, Dare to Share and Pebbles Project.
“The youth of our country and boxing are things that are very precious to me and this is what motivated me to partner with APFC on this event. I couldn’t think of anything better that watching a couple of spectacular fights and then presenting a charity with a cheque afterwards, said Ngesi.
Co-owner of APFC, Mike Mouneimne, will be doing his bit for charity by stepping into the ring for the first time in 12 years, against fellow martial arts stalwart, Bruce van Rensburg of Samurai Martial Arts.
“It’s been ages since I have fought and nothing could be a better motivator than raising money for kids in need. I am looking forward to meeting Bruce in the ring and having the fight community come together to do some good,” said Mouneimne.
